Tell me about….TRAVEL!
My blogger writing group prompt this month is Travel, which is a) one of my favorite things b) one of the main subjects of this blog and c) particularly timely, as I just got back from a 2-week trip to Europe. I have several blog posts on that trip already planned, but I’ll include a few tidbits from that trip in this post. I’ve been a travel addict from a young age. My family and I took a trip to the beach every other year. It took us 2 years to save up for that week. Growing up in a land-locked state (Kentucky), the ocean was utterly magical, and I…

Tell Me About …Gardens
Our blogging group has picked a topic I’m quite keen on – as a matter of fact, it’s the reason I don’t post as often as I’d like – I’ve got my hands in the dirt! I’ve never thought about it before, but all the things I now think of “playing” require at least one other person. The pattern may have been set because I grew up mostly as an only child. My brother and sister are 9 and 10 years older than me, so they were…

Is it too late to look back at 2022?
Serious bloggers probably put their “year-end” posts together early in December, but I haven’t posted in the last, um…many months, so we know I don’t fall into that category. Anyway, I’ve been inspired by those who have, so here’s my stab at it. The important stuff Big stuff that happened this year included the youngest and oldest members of the family being healthy and happy. My great-nephew David is the first baby on the farm in 30 years, and is a source of joy to all. My awesome mother-in-law Goodie turned 90, still lives alone in her own house, drives with confidence, and volunteers weekly with Altzheimer’s patients. The massive…
