Is it too late to look back at 2022?
Serious bloggers probably put their “year-end” posts together early in December, but I haven’t posted in the last, um…many months, so we know I don’t fall into that category. Anyway, I’ve been inspired by those who have, so here’s my stab at it. The important stuff Big stuff that happened this year included the youngest and oldest members of the family being healthy and happy. My great-nephew David is the first baby on the farm in 30 years, and is a source of joy to all. My awesome mother-in-law Goodie turned 90, still lives alone in her own house, drives with confidence, and volunteers weekly with Altzheimer’s patients. The massive…

This sweater poncho caught my eye for its lovely cowl collar and oatmeal color, and then the “hand” of the fabric when I touched it. There’s no substitute for feeling a fabric – something online shopping can never provide… I had no intention of stopping into Calypso in downtown Lexington, but I was next door at the Black Swan used bookstore, looking for books on Kentucky history for my husband’s Christmas presents. Transition dressing
Here in the Upper South, it will be hot (70’s/80’s) and humid for most of the month of September. We may be tired of our “summer” clothes, but it’s still way too hot to bust out the tweeds and sweaters, much less boots and scarves. So……it’s time to use more autumnal colors with lightweight fabrics. Does that call for a separate in-between wardrobe? No! It just calls for some creativity and planning. No ads or gifted products here, but a couple of good suggestions… My first example is this much-loved linen dress purchased last year in Italy. A puchase made in minutes before a shop closed, to tide me over…
