A Gift-Wrap

Today’s title is a VERY clever play on words – a favorite wrap or mini-poncho, that was a kind gift from a dear friend.

Many of you know that Jodie Filogomo is my fairy blogmother (as well as to many other folks). If you don’t know her blog Jodie’s Touch of Style, you should, but at least check it out. In addition to being a dentist, public speaker and awesome fashionista and blogger, Jodie is also a master knitter. She features her pieces of wearable-art frequently on her blog, and each Saturday on her IG account.

Last spring, a fellow choir member was wearing a really cool piece she said she’d knitted, and I snapped a photo to send to Jodie, as I thought she’d find it interesting.

Jodie was indeed interested, and asked if I’d like her to knit one for me. Of course, I said an enthusiastic YES! She asked me to measure around my shoulders and asked my favorite color schemes. Here is the yarn she chose from her massive “stash” – all my favorite colors:

Imagine my delight, when a few months later, THIS arrived in the mail!

The yarn is very soft, and a looser knit that what Carol made, but is more versatile for that reason.

This has rapidly become one of my favorite pieces, and I think I’ll be wearing it fall, winter and spring.

The next best thing to knowing how to knit is knowing a generous knitter – no wait, this is WAY better! Thanks again, Jodie!

Love it the colors and softness of the yarn make it just perfect for you. I see you are using a magnetic button as a closing like you kindly gifted to ME. Awesome. I will check out her blog. I have been doing a FB group that posts pictures of their capsule outfits that they are working on perfecting. Very helpful.

Thanks, Goodie! I was wearing the scarf you knitted for me the other day, WITH a raincoat I “inherited” from you, and they looked so good together. You’re quite the knitter yourself…

I LOVE how you used your magnetic clasp to hold it together, ANd used it as an infinity scarf. That’s truly the versatile way to make it so useful.
As you know, I only knit for those people I love, and there is a LOT of love in those stitches!!!
I’m so glad you appreciate my creative outlet.
